Welcome to WB Languages. I am the Chief Editor, Dr. Mark Weatherall.
I first came to Taiwan to study in 2005 and received a Ph.D. in Political Science from National Taiwan University in 2014.
During my time at National Taiwan University, I began to offer Chinese-English translation and English editing services. I have accumulated more than ten years of experience, working for Taiwanese scholars as well as business clients both in Taiwan and overseas.
My immersion in the Chinese language and Taiwanese culture as well as my academic background in Taiwan makes me uniquely qualified to provide high-quality translations that fully capture the subtleties and nuances of the source language.
Due to my growing business, I established WB Languages Co., Ltd. in 2020. However, I still stress quality over quantity. Each job is personally translated or edited by me, ensuring the highest quality final product each time.
Translation
Originally from the UK, I have been immersed in a Chinese speaking environment and culture since I first came to Taiwan to study Chinese in 2005.
Combining my deep understanding of the subtleties and nuances of Chinese and a cultural awareness from living in Taiwan for nearly two decades together with my native proficiency in English, I produce high-quality translations that both fully capture the meaning of the source text and render it into natural and fluent English that does not sound "translated."
Holding a Ph.D. in Political Science from National Taiwan University, I specialize in academic translations. However, I also have extensive experience in non-academic translation, including legal, marketing, and business translations.
Translation rates are based on the number of characters in the source document.
Fees are based on normal processing time. Additional fees are applied to urgent jobs.
Fees do not include Taiwanese sales tax (if applicable).
Editing
In addition to my own experience publishing articles in international journals, I have assisted many Taiwanese scholars across different disciplines to edit articles for publication, including political science, mathematics, materials science, information science, computer science, history, linguistics, design, etc. Regardless of the discipline, I can ensure that the manuscript accurately and effectively expresses your research.
